Why "Quan" Web Studios?

A common question we get asked is, where did the name "Quan" come from.

Did you ever see the film, “Jerry Maguire?”

There’s a great scene in the film where Cuba Gooding Jr.’s character, Rod Tidwell a football player, explains to his agent, Tom Cruise’s character, Jerry Maguire, what “Quan” is. He tells him that Quan is more than just “coin”. It’s about love, respect, community, and the money too.

Jerry Maguire: “Quan, that’s your word?”

Rod Tidwell: “Yeah man, that’s my word… some dudes will have the coin, but they will never have the Quan.”

Jerry Maguire: “But, what’s the Quan”?

Rod Tidwell: “It means love, respect, community… and the dollars too. The entire package. The Quan!”

Jerry Maguire: “Great word.”

That scene really resonated with us, and we think it's applicable to business as well.

So he left his employer and went out on his own to figure it out — a story most of us as business owners can probably relate too.

He only had one client who agreed to still use him as an agent. Rod Tidwell.

Now Rod was a bit of a hot dog. Egotistical, brash, and with him… it wasn’t “there is no ‘I’ in team,”… there was no “team” in Rod. He was all about himself.

Jerry was determined to work with him and did.

And he succeed by using one of the oldest and truest pieces of business wisdom I ever came across:

"You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want."
